Nottingham Building Society in radical rebrand

Nottingham Building Society and Nottingham Property Services today unveiled the result of their radical rebrand, the outcome of a 22-agency pitch process that was won by Jupiter Creative, in August 2006.
The re-brand brought together the building society and estate agency divisions under the banner ‘The Nottingham’, for the first time integrating the brand across advertising, branch interiors, customer literature and uniforms.
Nottingham Building Society was founded during the building society movement in the mid 19th century and challenged Jupiter to build on their heritage of service excellence whilst re-engaging with customers in the price-driven financial services market of the 21st century.
The Nottingham sales and marketing director comments, “This is a momentous time in the history of Nottingham Building Society and we’re all really excited about the changes. Jupiter understand that customers are looking for more than price in this market and have created a simple and powerful proposition based on real life and real people.”

What a transformation, suddenly they have so much more value!
Thanks Steve, your input was welcomed by all the team. We discovered the value that was already in the company but hidden: we had to bring it out in a clear, engageing way using solid brand planning and effective creative ideas. Early reports are the rebrand is hugely successful both in terms of brand perception and commercial results.
I can say this because I wasn’t personally involved on this re-brand. I think the whole design solution (including the strong new colours and fab Robin Hood, great photography, excellent copy, expert layout and simple but strong concepts) reveals the building society to be the best choice for local people. It’s refreshing to see a well controlled brand on the high street that is also bursting with life and energy, and still draws on its traditional roots.
Great work Jupiter. I know you’ve worked hard on this and it looks fab. Will be off to Notts to have a look v soon. Best wishes, Sarah x
brilliant job, brings the whole thing bang up to date. the choice of type hints at heritage and makes it look more established than the previous logo. the speech mark / page divider is an intresting device im sure can be put to more use too. good job guys.
