Creating space
German-born Mate Steinforth created this linear landscape for Audi. Simple lines are used to outline the contours and in this example also illustrate the trees.
Using such a simple background allows the lines to have much more impact as they can cut through, creating the depth and space required to give the feeling of a landscape.
I really like the blend of organic and electric styles and its simplicity has a big impact on me as you can understand what the artist is saying immediately.
The main thing this image illustrates is that you’ve got to give consideration to negative space as well as the graphic elements.
