Celebrating home-grown talent

Posted in Events by Jam on June 13th, 2008

Our second Jupiter & Friends event was a huge success, celebrating the inspiring design work created by Nottingham Trent University students for local charity the Child Migrants Trust.

The students were briefed to create new brand visuals for the charity, which reunites families separated by child deportation – a practice that took place in the UK until the 1970s.

The evening took guests on a moving and thought-provoking journey with the child deportees, combining stunning illustration, graphic design and animation to tell the rich stories behind the work of the Child Migrants Trust. It also proved a great opportunity to share ideas, and meet some up-and-coming designers over a glass of wine and some fresh summer strawberries.

Our creative director, Lorna Milligan, said: “The work the students produced combines images and language beautifully to get to the heart of the work carried out by the Child Migrants Trust. It was a privilege for us at Jupiter to be able to host this exhibition and we’re really excited to see so much great design talent being nurtured in the region.”

Keep an eye on our website for more Jupiter & Friends events coming soon. You can find more information about the Child Migrants Trust.
