Destination Designer Island
More than 7 years after the initial concepts were created, the Palm Jumeirah is weeks away from receiving it’s first guests.
The man-made island is designed in the shape of a Date Palm (the national plant of the United Arab Emirates) and will house 4,000 apartments and villas, plus a 62-storey glass hotel. Several other new island concepts are under creation along the same coast line.
Whilst it might not be to everyone’s taste, the whole concept of designing an island is a really interesting one. It is bound to attract hoards of visitors and spark debate.
