Beautiful words about Jupiter - language can move you

Not us but the planet. The word caught my eye on Yahoo’s news page yesterday and I read the opening sentence. ‘Small moons are acting as shepherds using their gravity to herd dust and boulders in Jupiter’s faint rings, NASA scientists reported on Tuesday’. Is it me or is that just beautifully poetic?

Language is powerful. I’ve seen first hand what happens when you change language and the result is changed behaviour. Take a simple word like ’staff’. When an organisation with 50,000 of them decided to call them ‘our people’, shift happened. Staff are a commodity, a mass of resource, usually subordinate.
