Wilkinson recently launched a new internal charity initiative as part of their continuing CSR commitment. The scheme will help raise money for a different charity each year, whilst at the same time offer Wilkinson some amazing insight into what its team members think about the quality of its products.

Penny for your thoughts allows staff members to give their honest opinion and review the entire range of Wilkinson products. For each team member product review or thought Wilkinson will donate 1p to its chosen charity. This year’s charity is the Children’s Hospices UK, an amazing charity helping support children and their families dealing with long-term illness.

By creating a very simple, easy to use website, we have given Wilkinson an online portal to not only gain valuable feedback from its own staff on the quality of products it sells, but also help to support a range of local and national charities at the same time.

As an additional thank you for sharing their thoughts, each month Wilkinson are choosing one lucky team member who has left feedback and rewarding them with a £50 voucher.

Majesticare are a luxury care homes provider with 17 premier care homes across the UK. We’re proud to have worked with the Majesticare team to create their first online presence.

Specialists in nursing care homes for the elderly, the Majesticare team of registered nurses provide the best possible standards of personal care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All Majesticare residential care homes make it their number one priority to look after the health, comfort, and dignity of all its residents. Majesticare also operate a number of specialist dementia care homes which are specifically designed for sufferers to be able to live their lives in the most comfortable way in their own specially created environments.

With an ageing population and the crowded nature of the private sector, our focus has been to bring to life the exceptionally high standards of living and care that Majesticare strive to provide.

We’ve been inspired by the commitment that the Majesticare team show to focusing on the things that matter to residents and their families - from locally sourced ingredients to holding family evenings, to launching a pioneering indoor gardening facility to designing each property to feel like a real home from home.

The site is aimed at prospective residents and their families. The approach we took to content recognises the emotional journey that enfolds when choosing a care home.

Experiencing daily life in some of their care homes and capturing this on film enabled us not only to get a feel for the many unique aspects of each of their properties, but also allowed us to create a truly authentic photographic representation of each place and the people. We created content using language that was professional but warm and engaging - all to help the user feel comfortable with the subject matter and feel motivated to want to find out more.

“I am delighted with the Majesticare website, it exudes the feeling of care and quality that is generated throughout our homes by our dedicated staff teams.

I have been very impressed with the team at Jupiter, their attention to detail, availability to hand hold and desire to deliver a top quality product has provided us with an exceptional web site that is representative of the standards that we aspire to deliver.

They have clearly placed us head and shoulders above our competitors and portrayed a care organisation as we believe it should be.” Managing Director, Erica Hart.

The site will play a key part in raising awareness of the brand and driving enquiries and initial visits.

Jayne was brought in to run the business by founder Mark Shaw in November 2006, who will remain a minority shareholder.

Jayne, who spent 19 years in senior positions at Boots prior to becoming Jupiter’s MD, now plans to lead the agency’s 80 strong team on a journey of continuing growth and success, building on Jupiter’s already solid industry reputation.

She said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time. Mark Shaw founded a great business in Jupiter and I feel very privileged to lead our talented team on the next stage of our journey”.

Earlier this year Jupiter was named 2nd largest agency in the UK for print design in Design Week’s league table of the 100 top agencies in the UK.

Mark Shaw said: “I wish Jayne and her team every success with the next stage of Jupiter’s evolution and I am sure that the business is in very safe hands.”

One of the UK’s largest contemporary art centres in the UK has just launched in Nottingham and if you haven’t experienced it yet, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Nottingham Contemporary is a bright, bold new space with four galleries which will house exhibitions from the UK and around the world.

It has space for live performances, films and learning lectures, in addition to a carefully stocked design-led shop and 50’s inspired Café Bar, it’s a hive of activity.

With hundreds of sky lights, huge windows, its north end sunk into the sandstone cliff and with Nottingham’s famous origins in lace-making cleverly ‘woven’ into the building design, even if contemporary art isn’t your thing, the building alone is enough of a reason to pay it a visit.

And talking of pay – there’s no need to, Nottingham Contemporary is free. (even better!)

This beautifully powerful poster campaign for a Leeds-based mental health organisation really strikes a chord. Combining photography, design, digital creativity and language, it’s a hugely impressive piece carrying an important message.

The two six sheet posters are for Leeds Counselling, and will soon appear in doctors’ surgeries, clinics, student halls and other relevant locations throughout Leeds. The work features faces woven out of strings of type, communicating the thoughts and feelings of those suffering with mental health issues.

After being supplied initially with black and white photography, San Francisco-based artist ‘Scloopy’ created the images, using a piece of software he wrote in Processing. This is an open source programming language and environment for people who want to program images, animation and interactions.

The result is striking, exquisite and powerful. And with plans in place to take the work into an online environment and a cinema advertisement, the entire creative spectrum is working seamlessly to communicate a vital message clearly and creatively. Which all in all, is what everyone likes to see.

We actively take on several not for profit projects throughout the year as a way of giving our skills and time to the communities in which we work and live.

During 2010, the Rainbows hospice will double in size as they open a new wing to the hospice with state-of-the-art facilities specifically designed to enable the care of children into young adulthood. Rebecca Singleton, Trustee for Rainbows (and Head of Instore Marketing for Sainsbury’s) knew this would be the perfect time to create a new brand identity. Our brief was to make it instantly recognisable, relevant to the expanded age profile of patients, communicate that the hospice services the whole of the East Midlands, and to provide stand out in what is a really competitive market.

The new brand identity was launched on 21st September, to coincide with their 15th birthday celebrations and has already started to make a significant impact in engaging existing and new donors.

Rebecca said “It has been such a pleasure working with Jupiter again and I am delighted that they took on the Rainbows challenge of developing a new brand identity. The team at Jupiter, led by Lorna, have been true professionals who have got really close to the Rainbows team to understand the brand and the unique challenges we have in caring for our Rainbows children and their families. The solutions and ideas that have been developed are outstanding and truly move Rainbows as a brand into a new and very exciting place. The team at Jupiter have excelled and we will always be so very grateful for their support and passion for what they have delivered.”

We recently worked with debt management specialists Payplan to help create a new website for their online debt management portal Justabank.

The Justabank site is a place where customers can not only track and organise their debt management but also gain valuable help and advice on how to improve their financial situation.

Our brief was to refresh the website in order to create a warm and friendly environment where Justabank customers could feel they had easy access to all the financial support they needed.

The new site uses a range of personalised messaging at precise moments in order to aid users with their debt management. It was vital that the new site assisted users in their recovery of financial stability and wasn’t seen as just a negative reminder of their situation.

Giving the site a friendly new look and feel, and structuring the content under an improved navigation has given the site a much needed face-lift. Early feedback shows that customers are enjoying the site as they can access information much easier.

The personalised messaging system also means that Payplan can communicate to individuals depending on their personal status and make sure they are providing the right level of financial support at the right time.

Payplans Project Manager, Becky Clough said “The site gives us a great platform to communicate effectively with our customers, and will also mean that we can withstand the growth of our product base and business which is fantastic and meets the original objective.”

We’ve really enjoyed working on the new site and look forward to working with the Payplan team again very soon.

You may remember earlier this year we created a new brand called Heart of Gold for a local rapeseed oil producer. Since the launch of the new brand and website in April interest in the new 100% homegrown cold pressed rapeseed oil has grown dramatically and we are now pleased to announce its arrival on supermarket shelves.

Bottles can be found in over 40 regional Tesco stores, around 70 Lincolnshire Co-Op stores, as well as 60 regional farm shops and delicatessens.

We are all really pleased with the success of the product so far and look forward to eventually seeing it in stores all over the country.

For the launch of their new Home product range, Wilkinson briefed us to come up with a brand new, interactive concept to inspire customers and drive online sales.

Our solution was a new interactive room designer feature that transforms the customer into the role of interior designer, giving them the tools to create and design their very own style of room.

Our room designer lets the customer choose from over 300 new products, and lets them visualise how a room might look with specific paint or wall paper, fabrics and furniture. Customers can also save their designs, send them to friends and family, and buy directly from the site.

I’m inspired by our new ’shed’ created by Paul Barton at Roomworks. It’s been lovingly designed and created by Paul and his team and is a thing of beauty with the sweet smell of cedar cladding and living, green ‘eco’ roof. It’s been a real pleasure to watch creative people at work on something that’s practical and useful, yet reinvented in such a pleasing way. I stepped outside with my coffee this morning and stroked its wooden sides. Good design does that to you.

We’ve thoroughly relished the opportunity to work with the team at Sport Lived to create a whole new online experience for their brand.

The Sport Lived mission is simple: To help young people explore the world through sport.

The brand creates and manages unique gap year opportunities, allowing students to play or coach their chosen sport – from swimming, tennis, rugby to athletics and football, in some of the world’s most exciting cities. Their whole approach is based on attention to detail, from the expert and efficient programme co-ordination, through to the selection of high quality accommodation. It adds up to a once in a lifetime opportunity. And that’s what we needed to reflect in the brand’s new website.

Our focus was to bring the brand to life, sharing the experiences, relationships and achievements made by participants in their own words and pictures. With so much practical information to communicate to prospective participants (and their paying parents), from costs to booking and Visa requirements, our approach was to allow people to get what they needed without getting bogged down or distracted from the amazing opportunities on offer.

With the current economic climate and the imperative for students to make every experience count, maximising their career and life opportunities, we’re confident that the brand and it’s new website can attract more young people to explore the world.

The 2009 ‘It’s Showtime’ fund raising calendar, created by Jupiter to raise awareness and funds for ORBS (oncoplastic reconstructive breast surgery) has scooped an international people’s award!

The calendar was created and shot by Jupiter’s Adam Shaw (Photographer) and Lorna Milligan (Creative Director), and featured 13 women who have all experienced breast cancer.

Adam entered a selection of portraits from the ORBS calendar into the international photo competition – the Prix de la Photographie (PX3), which was recently held in Paris.

PX3 is Europe’s biggest and most prestigious photographic competition. Px3 strives to promote the appreciation of photography, to discover emerging talent, and introduce photographers from around the world to the artistic community of Paris.

Alongside the main competition, they run a ‘People’s Choice’ award, voted for not by the judging panel but by people online.

Nearly 18,000 people voted and ORBS won the ‘People’s Choice’ award.

We’re delighted to have won this special accolade and hope that it helps to further raise awareness and generate more critical donations.

More about the ORBS calendar launch can be found on our blog. You can also donate online at Justgiving.

I just wanted to make people aware of a fantastic organisation/project that I was lucky enough to experience recently and I would encourage anyone with (or indeed without) children to try and get to see it.

The House of Fairy Tales is a not-for-profit arts-based education project established by the artists Deborah Curtis and Gavin Turk which uses the vast narrative scope of fairy tales to provide innovative and transformative learning experiences, for people of all ages.

The aim is to encourage more engagement with the arts and an inventive, imaginative approach to our everyday lives.

The result is a wonderful, magical, fantasy world facilitated by superbly talented artists, actors and all round creative souls (both young radicals and wise seniors), where the visitor can become completely involved in a relaxed and play driven way.

I found it really, really inspiring, my children absolutely loved it and we were all excited to hear that as well as touring various festivals throughout the summer the project will be visiting Clumber Park, Notts on 8th and 9th August.

Have a look at the website and better still go down to Clumber Park and meet these clever and inspiring people for yourselves!
