What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and it’s a clever way of bringing the latest news and content to you from your favourite websites, without you having to revisit the websites to check what’s new.

When you subscribe to an RSS feed, you’ll be sent the title and a short summary of the content from the website that produced the feed. To read the full story, you simply click through and visit the full version on the website. Plus, your computer will let you know when a new feed is available.

To subscribe to the Jupiter blog RSS feed, you will need a News Reader or other similar device. Some News Readers are web based and work within your web browser; others are external downloadable programs, known as ‘desktop readers’.

If you search for “RSS reader” in your search engine, you will find some of the more popular ones. e.g.
